ROCK and RUN on June 19!

Hi Friends! As some of you may or may not know, I’m part of a non-profit organization called REPUBLIKHA, and we are PASSIONATE about empowering the next generation through music. Or to break it down further, we work with artists, musicians, educators, parenting advocates, and people from the academe and the music industry to create high-quality educational children’s music that we can distribute for FREE (together with Parent and Teachers’ Manuals too!) to public schools and community day care centers...

How to Love Your Life: Listen to some good music AND support a good cause while you're at it!

I know I said I’d blog about the recent RepubLIKHA Children’s Music Fest, but I’m excitied about this event that we have coming up, so this couldn’t wait. I’d like to invite you (yes, YOU!) to come to a fundraising event for our non-profit org, REPUBLIKHA, which is being produced by the awesome people from Light It Up Productions. Not only will you get to enjoy a one-of-a-kind gig (you’ll get to watch some of the country’s coolest artists playing...

I ♥ the youth! (DAY 1 of the 30-Day Blog Challenge)

As I mentioned in my last post, I decided to take on Mariel‘s 30-Day Blog Challenge. My problem is that I wanted to start blogging about A LOT of different stuff that I didn’t know where to start! So I decided to ruthlessly make some edits and save the rest for the other days. So now I’m down to two things that I wanted to blog about, mainly because these two events made me happy this week. 1. I started...

Update / 30-day blog challenge warm-up!

This month has been a busy month…in a good way! I’ll be teaching/coaching for the first time today at the University of Makati together with the other LIFE teachers/coaches. I’m looking forward to this! I also started a new women’s small group with old friends and new friends that meets on Tuesday nights. Busy, busy! So I haven’t been able to blog properly. Maybe I’ll do the 30-day blog challenge (I was inspired by my friends and former co-workers at...

Would you like to help us by making a donation? Big or small…we'll welcome all!

Hi everyone! On July 31 (that’s this Friday!), Republikha (our NGO–find out more about us @ http://www.republikha.org) will making another visit to our first beneficiary at GK-Poveda (their community is in Taguig City). In the morning we will be teaching the kids (preschoolers!) about music. After that we will be sitting down with some of the parents and guardians of GK-Poveda so that we can get to know them better. We also want to find out what their challenges are...

Praise report!

REPUBLIKHA, the NGO we put up that we’ve been working on since September, is up and running! We’re so happy and thrilled that Gino de la Paz, a great great great writer and a huge supporter of our cause (and one of my favorite people in the world) decided to write about us in his column today. Do check it out! Philippine Star, Supreme section, pages J1 and J3. Here’s a preview: Please please go and find a paper a...

Counting the blessings.

Busy times. But God has been good, and His grace really abounds, so I can’t complain. It’s a good season. :) Counting my blessings this week: 1) I preached in a service for the first time EVER (never thought I’d actually do it in this lifetime)!  My friend and small groupmate (?) Roxanne Barcelo was also there to give her testimony. She’s an awesome speaker, and she’s really someone I’m so proud of. She has a HUGE heart and her...

Superhero series: GANG BADOY and CARISSE ESCUETA

From time to time, I’ll be featuring some people who I think are pretty awesome. I’m calling it the SUPERHERO SERIES! Do you know how valuable one little step can be? I look at my 9-month nephew who fearlessly attempts to take a step every time we prop him up. I know without a doubt that one day, during one of his fearless attempts, he’ll finally find himself walking. Oh, what one little step can do. GANG BADOY and ROCK...
